Rehearsal Requirements

All dancers are permitted one excused rehearsal absence out of the scheduled rehearsals. If you are needing an excused absence it must be submitted by email with a two week advance notice.

All dancers are required to attend the In- Studio Dress Rehearsal and the Tech / Dress Rehearsal at the theatre to participate in the performance. Participants are urged to strive for perfect attendance and zero tardiness to rehearsals. Participants who miss rehearsals or are frequently tardy are subject to being recast or replaced, at the discretion of the Director. This includes rehearsals missed due to schedule conflicts, emergencies, illness and injury. Please keep in mind tuition, performance and costume fees are non refundable.

Absences Prior to Performance or withdrawal from Performance "Students are required to attend all classes four weeks prior to a performance, or they will not be allowed to perform. Additionally, in order to perform, all students must attend all mandatory rehearsals as detailed for each performance. Should you decide your child will not perform, please inform your teacher via email at least four weeks from the performance. Performance and costume fees are not refundable. This policy is in place to ensure a quality performance and fairness to all students. Choreography and staging are based on a consistent group of performers".

Roles in Performances

Dancers in Levels Pre- ballet -2B typically have one piece of choreography in the Spring Showcase. Levels Pre-ballet -2B do not participate in the more advanced and mature ballets that are not age-appropriate for children. All roles for all levels Pre-Ballet-6 are cast according to class and technical ability. The Director, not the teachers, makes all casting decisions. Our Conservatory is staffed with seasoned professionals both onstage and in directing who carefully consider many aspects when casting dancers. Please do not send emails inquiring about role assignments. Classical ballet teaches patience, perseverance, grace, and good sportsmanship, which helps dancers prepare for life beyond the Conservatory.

Parent participation for " The Nutcracker" and "Spring Showcase"

Parents with children in Levels Pre-ballet through 2C are required to volunteer to help with each performance OR pay an opt-out fee of $100 per session.

Rehearsal/Performance Fee – These fees cover the costs associated with rehearsals scheduled outside of the regular class schedule. These weekend rehearsals are posted on the Rehearsal/Performance Page (link below). Additional rehearsals allow students and teachers to focus solely on choreography, spacing, and production details in preparation for the performance.

The Performance Fee helps cover expenses related to putting on a professional-quality production, including theater rental, lighting and sound technicians, costuming, backstage staff, props, sets, and production support. The Rehearsal/Performance Fee is automatically added to tuition when enrolling online.
